Description

Chalet Milou is a large traditional wooden alpine chalet in Morillon near the ski lifts with direct access to the Grand Massif ski area with 265km of slopes – wood fire, hot tub, 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, sleeps 8+.The chalet is very large with over 160m2 of living space: 4 generous bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a very large open living area which offers a big kitchen, dining room, sitting room, wood burning fire, walk round balcony and hot tub. Ample private parking is available on the gravel drive next to the chalet front door.

Chalet Milou is a large newly built traditional Savoyard wooden chalet on 3 floors. On the ground floor, the main entrance leads to a generous entrance hall with a long bench, shoe and boot racks, coat hooks and hanging area, and a separate heated ski boot rack (to dry your ski boots and keep them warm). Tiled stairs lead up to the first floor and the living area. The first floor is fully tiled and has underfloor heating throughout. The huge and spacious living/dining/ kitchen room (55 square metres) provides a warm flow-through living area. The living room has 2 sofas, TV and a toasty inset wood burning stove; it leads through to the dining room with its huge solid oak table which seats 8 very comfortably. Plenty of dry wood for the stove is provided within the booking price. Both French and Satellite (UK Freeview) TV are available, as well as the required connections to enable you to access your own films, music or streaming content from your own laptop (PC or Apple). French windows lead out into the south-facing walk-round balcony and the hot tub (which is available for guests’ exclusive use). A store of traditional family games is available – such as playing cards, Jenga, Draughts, Scrabble, Chess etc. Music can be played via our mobile Megaboom speaker – either via Bluetooth or using the connection lead.The large family kitchen is open to the dining room across the integrated breakfast bar – allowing sociable family cooking and eating. The kitchen offers full height fridge and separate full height freezer, Microwave, 5-hob gas cooker, electric fan oven, and fan extractor, and double sink; it is extremely well equipped with all the modern kitchen machines, utensils and mod cons you would expect in your own home (Espresso Machine, French coffee press, microwave, toaster, blender stick, kettle, etc). Along a private corridor, the first floor also has a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower, sink, heated towel rail and WC. The balcony outside the sitting room has a Jacuzzi-Hot Tub for your private use.Stairs lead to the second floor and the remaining 3 bedrooms. The master double bedroom has French doors out onto its own full length south-facing balcony, ample clothes hanging space in the integrated wardrobes, and an ensuite bathroom offering bath, shower, WC, heated towel rail and sink. There are a 2 further double bedrooms on the second floor, each with a spacious alpine feel and sharing a family bathroom-WC; the beds in each bedroom can be separated into 2 singles if required. Chalet Milou stands in an ideal location: in a quiet wooded spot 50 metres from the Ski Bus stop, and just 400 metres walk from the Morillon cable car, which connects directly into the Grand Massif ski area with 265km of slopes available for all types of skiers and snowboarders from beginners to advanced level. There are 3 ski lifts within 1 km of the front door, which are as follows: The Morillon Village gondola station is either a 400m walk, or you can use the free ski bus, which takes 2 minutes, or you can drive in 2 minutes to the huge free car park just opposite the gondola station. The gondola takes you direct to Morillon 1100, and then on via the chairlift to Tete de Saix at 2120m and from there you can access all ski areas of the Grand Massif.. You could alternatively use the Vercland cable car – 700 metres by car (free parking next to the lift) or a 4 minute free ski bus ride – cable car taking you to Samoëns 1600 and then with the high speed chairlift to the Tete de Saix at 2120m and into the Grand Massif ski area. Samoëns Grand Massif Express – a new super fast gondola. 1 km by car or 6 minutes by free ski bus, taking you to Samoëns 1600 and then with the high speed chairlift to the Tete de Saix at 2120m and into the Grand Massif ski area. With over 265 km of pistes, 148 slopes and more than 70 lifts, the Grand Massif is one of the best ski areas in Europe. The 1100 snow machines ensure that over 50% of the slopes can be covered by artificial snow, if the need arises. Full details of the ski area and activities can be found at: http://winter.grand-massif.com/ During the summer, the opportunities for beautiful scenery, views, nature and endless activities are on our doorstep; within just 1 km are: rafting, lake swimming (“lac bleu”, Morillon centre), road cycling, excellent mountain biking, with 142km of trails, parascending, hiking with mountain huts available for multiple day hikes, tennis, a tree tops adventure ropes course , outdoor swimming pool and swimming lake at Samoëns with a golf driving range as well as golf courses a short drive away in Les Carroz, Les Gets and Morzine. A little further afield but still within 5 km are also Via Ferrata and canyoning.
